acec mission & goals
The Mission of the Audubon Conservation Education Center is to help sustain the natural heritage of the Yellowstone River watershed through education and research designed to engage individuals and communities in the active care of their environment.
At the ACEC we believe place-based education can and will have a significant impact on how we view our relationships to and with the natural world. One overarching theme that is consistently expressed through center programs and operations:
Montana’s diverse and abundant wildlands and wildlife is a valued asset that sustains and enriches the lives of individuals and communities. Protecting our natural heritage to continue this reciprocal relationship with the natural world is a matter of our responsibility rather than our choice.
Our primary goals are:
1) Provide place-based education programs for students in south-central Montana.
2) Provide science-based information about Yellowstone River natural history.
3) Promote science-based stewardship of the Yellowstone River.
4) Promote ecological sustainability in business, schools and the community.
