Expanding Markets with Conservation Ranching | Montana Audubon

Montana Audubon

Montana Audubon works at the local, state and national policy levels to protect our natural heritage.

Expanding Markets with Conservation Ranching

For the second year in a row, Montana Audubon is proud to sponsor the Western Sustainability Exchange’s Expanding Markets Conference, which will be held September 23-25 in Billings. This year’s conference focus is “The Rising Tide of Consumer Demand is Propelling Regenerative Agriculture Markets.” Featured speakers include ranchers from Audubon-certified ranches, and through the Conservation Ranching program we were able to offer free registration to three additional ranchers.

The conference kicks off with a tour of the Audubon-certified Seacross Ranch at Lodge Grass Creek, in Lodge Grass. The tour will highlight a stock water pipeline project partially funded by a Montana Audubon subaward via a National Fish and Wildlife Foundation grant.

Also of note- the Science Team detected 6 Black-billed Cuckoos (a Montana Species of Concern) on this ranch during surveys in the summer of 2023!
