Public Lands Rally 2019!

Rally for Public Lands

Friday, January 11th

Noon – 1 p.m.

State Capitol Rotunda

1301 E. 6th Avenue, Helena

Rally with your fellow Montanans in celebration of our outdoor way of life and to stop private interests from seizing and exploiting our public lands.

Montana Audubon is part of a statewide coalition to keep public lands in public hands! We’re coordinating rides to the rally from communities around the state. If you can attend, let us know – RSVP right here!

You can also add your voice to this effort to defend the future of our public lands by filling out the Public Land Pledge.

Public lands define and unify Montanans by enabling the outdoor way of life we all share. A magnet for businesses, skilled workers, and visitors, public lands also serve as the foundation of our state’s $7 billion outdoor recreation economy, one of the largest sectors of our overall economy.

That’s why Montanans of all stripes have stood up to and stopped the dangerous movement to transfer and sell off public lands.

But this victory may not matter in the long run if special, out-of-state interests continue using their money and influence to shape legislation and other decisions that determine how national public lands are managed. More and more, elected officials and other decision-makers at all levels of government are turning a deaf ear to Montanans and selling out our public lands to those who want to exploit them for their own gains.

Join us in the Capitol Rotunda to remind our decision-makers that we will not tolerate or allow special interests to decide the fate of our public lands, and that we will fight tooth and nail to ensure that all Montanans, no matter how much money we have, can continue to access and enjoy public lands.
