Helping kids have meaningful experiences in nature ensures that the conservation and advocacy work of Montana Audubon can continue long into the future. This #givingtuesday, (November 27) we invite you to make sure every kid can learn and explore outside with a donation to the Montana Audubon Center scholarship fund. Donate here!
In 2018, the scholarship fund provided 60 awards to kids from 20 different families, with the greatest part of those going to kids who could not otherwise participate in our programs. The fund also helped to support our LINKS mentor program, which brings together low-income and at-risk kids in an after-school program to work with volunteer high school mentors.
The benefits of time spent in nature are especially important for kids who are disadvantaged, but this population often has the least access to positive outdoor experiences. We hear all the time from teachers and parents that students who struggle in the classroom thrive in our outdoor programs. To ensure equity and diversity in our programs and in the conservation movement, it is critical to reach kids, all kids, wherever they are.
Thank you for supporting our efforts at the Montana Audubon Center!
