Climate Watch

January 15- February 15 & May 15-June 15

Volunteers complete winter and/or summer surveys for target species to collect data that will help us understand how birds are responding to climate change. A project with National Audubon.

Screech-owls

March 1 – April 30

These nocturnal cavity nesting owls depend on old growth trees in riparian areas, and we need your help looking for these birds throughout the state to assess their conservation needs.

Nightjars

June 1 – August 10

Want to spend a warm summer night looking and listening for Montana’s nightjar species? Common Poorwills and Common Nighthawks are two cryptic, aerial insectivores lacking data and we need your help gathering information on these hard to find species!
