In 2026, Montana Audubon staff have been traveling all over the state in support of the Audubon Conservation Ranching program.
Earlier this year, Christian Meny, Montana Audubon’s Director of Conservation, was a co-author on a paper that highlights IMBCR and its effectiveness. The paper, titled “Monitoring at management scales: Multi-scale trend estimates for bird populations in the western United States,” was published in the journal Ecosphere.
With 2026 around the corner, we’re reflecting on the progress made through the Audubon Conservation Ranching program, and specifically, one of our first infrastructure projects designed to benefit birds and Montana’s waterways.
Join us for Pour It Forward on Monday, November 24 from 4 – 9 p.m. at The Union in downtown Helena. For every beverage sold, $1 will be donated to Montana Audubon.
For the third year in a row, Montana Audubon is proud to sponsor the Western Sustainability Exchange’s Expanding Markets Conference, which will be held September 30- October 2 in Helena, Montana.
Last fall, Montana Audubon’s Director of Conservation Christian Meny gave a presentation for Buzz on the Range, a project testing innovative grazing practices to support both cattle production and pollinator habitat on working Montana ranches.
The Grazing Expo will be held September 4 -7, in Billings, Montana, and is designed to empower land managers with tangible resources while highlighting the west-wide impact of sound grazing lands stewardship.
It may have been a cold and rainy weekend, but we had a fantastic time at the 2025 Old Salt Festival! This year’s festival was June 20 -22, on the Mannix Family Ranch in Helmville, Montana.
We are thrilled to announce that the Montana Audubon Conservation Ranching (ACR) program is now enrolling the ranches that make up the Old Salt Co-op!
In October the Science team traveled to Shelby, Montana, for the 2024 Transboundary Grassland Partnership (TGP) Workshop. A highlight was a pre-workshop tour on the Blackfeet Reservation.
