Black Swift Shirt Available LIMITED TIME

For millennia, snow-capped mountains and alpine lakes have provided vital water sources for one of North America’s most elusive species, the Black Swift. Foraging at more than 10,000 feet of elevation within their remote alpine and cliffside breeding habitats, it is no wonder that defining their occupied range in Montana poses tough challenges. But, after 7 years of leading state efforts to collect more accurate Black Swift breeding information, we have some major milestones to celebrate.

  • Helping confirm 50 state locations with direct evidence of nesting
  • Locating the 51st and 52nd state locations with potential evidence of nesting
  • Helping locate Glacier National Park’s 40th known nesting location
  • Finding Montana’s first nesting site from 1962 still occupied!
  • Cumulatively, recording evidence of nesting at 27 waterfall sites, following 101 remote dusk or dawn surveys

And momentum is building! Entering our 8th year, we have taken on leadership roles in cross-boundary partnerships, connecting burgeoning work north of the border with multiple state efforts throughout the Rockies.

Now you can support these efforts with a beautiful Black Swift shirt! All net proceeds from Black Swift t-shirt sales directly support the Black Swift Project and summer 2020 research efforts and bring capacity to partnerships we are driving forward. Orders will be accepted through June 1st, 2020.
