Photography Contest Winners!

Thank you to everyone who submitted a photo to our contest. We were blown away by your incredible photographs. Our judges scored photos on the following categories:

  • Creativity and Originality
  • Color, Lighting, Exposure and Focus 
  • Composition 
  • Visual Appeal 

We are happy to announce the winners of our 2021 Photography Contest! Congratulations to our top two photographers! These two photos will be featured in our Fall Newsletter as well as our upcoming Birdathon report. Both photographers will be mailed a gift card to The Base Camp.

About our Photography Contest

To celebrate our 2021 Birdathon campaign, we held a photography contest this June. We invited photographers of all levels to join us and submit a photo for consideration. The contest submission window is now closed. Thank you to everyone who participated. You can still support our Birdathon campaign by visiting our donate page. 

We were lucky to have three incredible photographers serving as our volunteer judges:

Mimi Falivene of Hamilton

Mike Daniels of Hamilton. 

Contest Rules:

  • All photos must be of an avian species.
  • Photo must have been taken within the last calendar year (May 1, 2020-June 2021)
  • Photo must have been taken in the State of Montana.
  • Photo must be submitted with the bird species identified.
  • No purchase necessary for participation. Not everyone who enters will win. 
  • By submitting you are consenting to us posting your photo in our Fall Newsletter, on social media, and in our Birdathon report. Photographer retains all rights to the photo.

Guidelines for Submission:

  • Submit one photo per person by June 15th at 11:59pm to Danielle at [email protected].
  • Email submission of the photo must be in a jpeg or png format file.
  • Information that must be included with the submission: name of photographer, email address & phone number of photographer, date taken, approximate location (near Missoula, for example), photograph title, and bird species.
