It may have been a cold and rainy weekend, but we had a fantastic time at the 2025 Old Salt Festival! This year’s festival was June 20 -22, on the Mannix Family Ranch in Helmville, Montana.

There is a collaborative plan to construct three Motus receiving stations (towers) in Gallatin Valley to track bird species at risk, and migratory birds.
Two survey windows will be available for citizen scientists to participate in this unique effort: April 8th – May 7th, and May 8th – May 31st, 2025.
March 1 marks the start of our second-annual citizen science survey for Western and Eastern Screech-Owls, and we are looking for dedicated volunteers across Montana to collect much needed data on these Potential Species of Concern.
