Trinity Pierce Moves On
This month we say farewell to a great member of our team, Restoration Coordinator Trinity Pierce. Over the last three years, Trinity has guided the landscape work on our 54-acre home with a steady hand and a passion for all things plant-related. She has done amazing work with community volunteers and made a real impact on the community.
From one of our Advisory Council members:
“You have been just fantastic both as a center advocate and in your role as Restoration Coordinator. Your enthusiasm, organizational skills and ability to bridge divides and forge new partnerships was invaluable and will serve you well in your future position. We will miss you greatly!”
On behalf of the humans and other species in Montana, we thank Trinity for all of her care and hard work. We wish her the best of luck for her new adventures in the Midwest!
Evening Under the Big Sky
The Montana Audubon Center’s annual fundraising dinner, Evening Under the Big Sky, will be on September 23rd on the Center grounds. This event raises nearly 10% of our annual operating costs, providing critical support for programs to connect kids and families with nature. Featuring dinner fare from Commons 1882, drinks, music, a silent auction, and live auction hosted by Tom Towe. Tickets are $75, table of 8 for $550. Sponsorship opportunities also available.
Master Naturalist and Fall Programs
Want to go deeper in your knowledge of the local landscape and connect with others who are interested in the same? This fall, the Montana Audubon Center is proud to offer the Montana Master Naturalist program for adults interested in the natural history of South-Central Montana. This 40-hour course features hands-on, field-based instruction about plants, animals, geology, and the dominant river, forest, and grassland ecosystems of the area. Course will be led by lifelong naturalist Heather Bilden and is offered in partnership with the Montana Natural History Center. Professional certification available. Monday evenings, Sept 18th – Nov 20th. $250. Call the Center to inquire or to register.
Our fall program slate also includes a number of programs for all ages: afterschool, homeschool, Nature Nuts for toddlers, and Weekend Wonders Family Programs. We are also excited to be extending our Saturday Bird Strolls and Saturday Open House hours through at least the end of October. Fall is a great time to visit: call the Center for more information at 406.294.5099
